Ex Libris is a Latin phrase literally meaning "from the books". Also knows as  in English, it's often used to indicate ownership of a book to a person or a library. Usually a small print or decorative label pasted inside a book, often on the front end paper. It may bear a name, motto, motif related to the owner, followed by an inscription like "from the books of..." or "from the library of..." (Source: Wikipedia-PT); Wikipedia-EN).
"In essence, it's an identification sticker that is placed on books, but is at the same time a cultural and artistic record of a society. Ex Libris are influenced by art movements, important human history events and can tell more about an important figure's life. Brazil lost the habit of owning an ex libris, so I decided to start a project where I design them for friends and folk, in an attempt to rescue this tradition and spread it."
