"While drawing this one by hand (and not in a computer as I normally do), a good friend said it looked like a "spawn" of "Vampire: The Masquerade", a role-playing-game (RPG), so I ended up naming it as "Cria". In this dark context it meant "sired by a vampire", but "Cria" literally translates to "created". I had never played "Vampire: The Masquerade", but I liked the idea of a vampire, so I ended up putting some blood in her mouth, a tad bit of shining-red-light in her eyes, and a very morbid vibe."
"About the artwork in general, I like it a lot. This time I tried to do something different, let my lines trace more loosely, without thinking about technique, logical matters, or even my personal standards. I feel I have improved my technique in so many ways with "Cria" when it comes to managing colors, lighting, and many others. At the same time, when I realized how deep from me this drawing came from, it scared me. I couldn't, however, stop fascinating myself at the same time."
"I had more fun with the process than actually looking at the final result. I can't disassociate one from  another, so everytime I look at it, It reminds me of the feelings I felt whilst drawing, panting, and designing it. As an attempt to share this process with you, I've enclosed some step-by-step illustrations of this work."

Final work: Cria

First concept of "Cria".
"To not forget ideas I draw on notes and put it somewhere, so late can design it better."
"The lineart design was made with India Ink. If I remember well, I may or may not made it in most of my rides on the city's subway. Sincerely, I still don't know how I didn't smudge the draw."
"End up cleaning it a lot, editing some parts, etc. Painting the skin was surprisingly nice. At that time I wasn't much good on it, but now I can see my evolution, showing the spotlight of her face and it coherent with the dark ambient."
"My original idea to the... tentacles? was feathers. I love feathers and I love to draw them, but for some reason had a feeling that it wasn't work well on this piece."
"The blue in her eyes creates a nice contrast with the other colors such as the brown and the black. So, when I painted the "feathers" with it, was surprise with how much it works! In the end those... tentacles are mushroom that shines in the dark, but mostly who saw this piece don't exactly agrees with me..."
"When I was panting the crown, was in doubt between the gold and the silver, so I panted both to make a comparition. In the end, I prefer the gold, but for some reason I forgot to change the colors, and, well it works and it's kind of a nice "mistake", so... "
